A lower body lift was developed with the goal of not only tightening the trunk but also tightening the thighs by removing excess skin and fat from the buttocks, outer thighs and abdomen. This was initially suggested for patients after massive weight loss, but the body lift improves the shape and contour of patients after normal aging and some moderate weight loss. During your initial consultation with Dr. Harrison he will recommend which type of body contouring is most appropriate and provide you with some options.
Liposuction is often used to assist during lower body lift procedures to improve the overall result. After surgery, recovery will take four to six weeks, but for the patient whose body really requires this procedure it can yield dramatic and satisfying results. Patients with a lower body mass index (BMI) do better than patients with a higher BMI.
